Detailed Evaluation
Every leg is unique. That's why Intermountain Vein Center physicians and providers take extra time with each patient during the physical examination to ensure each person understands his or her individual venous disease. The examination consists of a detailed background of family history, your vein conditions during pregnancy, history of blood clots, how much pain the patient has during the day and at night as well as additional questions to ensure that health conditions are well understood. |
Tests for Venous DiseaseThe detailed evaluation includes an ultrasound for venous disease in the legs or a venogram for pelvic congestion. These advanced imaging technologies are necessary to map the unique way blood runs through the veins. An ultrasound uses painless sound waves higher than human hearing. A duplex ultrasound allows the physician to measure the speed of blood flow and to see the structure of leg veins. A venogram is an x-ray for people suffering from vein disease in the pelvic area. The venogram uses an injected dye to help the physician see the anatomy of the veins.Intermountain Vein Center has highly qualified registered sonographers on staff who provide exceptional service using state-of-the-art imaging ultrasound and venography equipment.
