What Patients Are Saying

Patients of Intermountain Vein Center have a lot of positive things to say about the treatment of their venous disease. Here are a few that we wanted to share:

Charlotte's Grandkids Drove Her to Treatment

Charlotte's legs looked and felt worse after each pregnancy. Every year her legs and ankles became more painful and swollen with varicose disease. Although she wore supportive hose, her energy level was still not 100 percent because of the heaviness in her legs. Charlotte understood the consequences of untreated varicose veins because of the memory of helping bandage her mother-in-law's ulcerated legs. "My mother-in-law never sought help for her vein disease – her legs became ulcerated and extremely painful."

Charlotte had heard about new vein procedures at Intermountain Vein Center but was still hesitant to call. When her grandchildren noticed her rope-like legs, she decided to make an appointment. "Kids are very honest," said Charlotte. "When they pointed out the bulging veins in my legs, I knew it was obvious to everyone else."

When Charlotte went in for a complimentary leg screening, she was relieved that the treatments were far less invasive than the out-dated procedures of the past. "The doctor talked me through the entire procedure," said Charlotte. "The entire staff was extremely knowledgeable and caring. All my questions were thoroughly answered; I appreciated the way they took the time to make me feel relaxed."

Charlotte reports that her legs look better and better. "I'm excited – really excited that my legs can look and feel this good."

Now Charlotte doesn't think twice about her legs when wearing a swimsuit and when playing in the water with her grandchildren.

Leg Pain So Bad Beverly Couldn't Get Off the Couch

Right after menopause, Beverly's unsightly varicose veins became much more than a cosmetic issue – she couldn't get off the couch and walk around the house.

"On a pain scale from one to ten, my pain was reaching eleven," said Beverly.  "I didn't know what to do, the pain was so bad."

After a visit to her primary care physician, Beverly was referred to the specialists at Intermountain Vein Center.

"I was shown on an ultrasound that my legs had serious venous disease," said Beverly.  "Blood was flowing back down and pooling in my lower legs – that is why my legs hurt so badly."

A year after her expert treatment from Interventional Radiologists at Intermountain Vein Center, Beverly has only rave reviews about her experience.

"I've never been happier," said Beverly. "When I find out someone is suffering from venous disease, I don't hesitate to refer them to Intermountain Vein Center."
